NEWS. . . NEWS. . .

Project HOPE Falls Short

We worked very hard to get the HOPE for Oregon Families Initiative onto the November ballot, but we didn't gather enough signatures to make it. We ran an amazing campaign and turned in more than 115,000 signatures to the Secretary of State. But that was fewer than we needed to produce 100,840 valid signatures. Mitch is working with HOPE’s co-sponsors, Senators Ben Westlund and Alan Bates to achieve universal access to health care through the action of the Oregon legislature in the 2007. We think the HOPE campaign catalyzed the movement and it looks as if several proposals will be coming forward for consideration
